Bring out the Animal in You! Leopard in Fashion for the Home~

Lately, I’ve had Animal Prints on my mind. Must be the Fall air, I get excited to begin wearing more of my animal prints although I have many I wear in the summer months. Just as there is most probably room in your closet for a few animal print items there is certainly room in most every home for just a touch- or more… My favorite is Leopard Prints.  Let me tell you though, there is classy and trashy. Don’t over do!  Here’s a look at Leopard print done right, both as wearable fashion and fashion for the home – photos via #Pinterest. Plus, my family will get a kick out of this post, one Christmas I opened six gifts in a row that were all leopard print!

Think leopard is too crazy for you? Not if you pair it with a simple white tee and jean jacket. Makes a great weekend outfit, ready for any function!

Pattern in Decorating

Pattern and More Pattern!

This blog post features several beautiful images of patterns used in decorating. Selected by the author to help you identify how to decorate with pattern and be comfortable with using pattern when decorating a room.  From time to time I receive requests from bloggers asking to do a guest post on Chatti Patti Talks Design and Mari has written this just for my readers. Enjoy!~

Hello, everyone! It’s Mari here with a guest post from Arcadian Home. It’s a wonderful place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from beautiful mini pendant lights to decorative pillows for the sofa or bed. Today’s topic is pattern—a look at lots of pattern. I’ve brought along images of some of my favorite ways to add visual interest to interior spaces with beautiful pattern of all sorts. Please enjoy! Thanks for letting me visit for a bit. ~ Mari

A long hallway has been turned into a gorgeous sitting room with soft color and interesting pattern and texture. The blues and browns seen here have been used to create a cohesive look throughout this warm and inviting home.

A lovely mix of pattern brings lots of visual interest to this beautifully neutral living room. What a warm and inviting room!

Who knew pale blue pattern could create such a stunning look? Folding screens have been covered with an ethereal blue gray landscape. Aren’t they beautiful against the sky blue wall? Add an unexpected large scale patterned rug in blue, white and sand and this wonderful eclectic space is captivating.

Symmetry and Elegance!~ CP

Want to add more pattern to a formal dining room? Consider using a contrasting pattern to upholster chair backs. With meticulous placement of the motif, this can create a beautiful look.

Subtle pattern is gorgeous in this hotel bedroom where the canopied bed is the focal point of the space. I especially love the tone on tone soft pattern of the duvet.

A red, tan and black antique rug creates beautiful contrast in this lovely light-filled bath—an easy way to add pattern with stunning results.

A colorful rug or runner can bring beautiful pattern to just about any style kitchen. Here in a more traditional eat-in kitchen a modern pendant light and contemporary patterned rug in turquoise hues, along with a pale blue glass tile backsplash give the space an updated look.

Great Rug, really does add interest and Oomph to this Kitchen!~ CP

Lastly, we leave you with a single use of pattern to consider—the iconic black and white checkerboard floor. This grand entry perfectly illustrates the design power of this traditional floor covering. Think about this space without the black and white floor. It would still be beautiful but with much less visual impact.

Pattern and color

Love, love, love the bright green drapery panels with the classic black and white patterned floor tiles!~ CP
