Invited to Memphis, Tennessee this July by Brizo (division of Delta Faucet Company) as a member of their very distinguished Blogger19 program (September 2011), 86 Interior Designers and Design Bloggers were treated to a VIP tour of the impressive campus of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Target House. Being a guest of Brizo accompanied by an opportunity to learn about their new partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was definitely a highlight of my 2013 summer. Brizo donates faucets as well as kitchen and bath accessories for the St. Jude Dream Home Give Away which allows thousands of people a chance to win a new home! “Target joined in our fight against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases in 1999 with the opening of Target House. An innovative approach, Target House gives St. Jude patients and their families a warm home-away-from-home during long-term treatment. Target House provides a magnificent community of fully-equipped, two-bedroom apartments in a beautiful setting just minutes from St. Jude. Funded by Target and its vendor and celebrity partner contributors, this unique facility is free-of-charge and enhances the quality of life for St. Jude patients, providing a haven where the St. Jude children and their families derive compassion, comfort and strength. Since its opening, Target House has hosted more than 1,337 families from 42 states and 36 countries, touching children all around the world.”
- Various and plentiful gathering rooms are spread throughout the Target House to appeal to a range of ages and activities.
- Comfort for the families during the duration of their stay is a high priority at St. Jude. Apartments fit for a family of four are provided for families of patients free of charge during the entire protocol which can be a few months up to several years. Families NEVER receive a bill. Never. This is made possible by generous donations and benefactors.

Sincere thanks to Brizo for sponsoring this trip to Memphis. In addition to the tour of the hospital, the Blogger19 group also received an in-depth tour of the Delta Faucet Factory nearby where we were introduced to the process of creating a beautiful Brizo faucet and I’ll share that with you in my next Brizo post.
